Walter Jackson

Walter “Walt” Jackson, 70, Wisconsin Rapids, brother of a
Stevens Point woman, died Friday, March 11, 2016, following a brief battle with
cancer.
Interment with military honors will be
held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at Pioneer Cemetery in the town of Saratoga
in Wood County.
A rock and roll celebration of life as he planned will
follow at the Elks Club of Wisconsin Rapids from 3:30 to 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Ministry Home Care Hospice or UW
Madison Cancer Center.

Mr. Jackson was born July 31, 1945, in Rushville, Ind., a
son of the late Charles and Grace (Carson) Jackson.
He was married to Gale Huebl of Wisconsin Rapids Aug. 9,
1969.
He served in the U.S. Air Force for 4-1/2 years during the
Vietnam War.
He came to Wisconsin in 1968 following his military service.
He was employed at Consolidated Papers Inc. for 33 years
until the company was sold.
He was owner of Rapids Trophy for several years and held
various part-time jobs in retirement.
He was an avid golfer and recorded two holes-in-one and won
the VERSO Corporation Golf League with his son in 2015.
Survivors include his wife, Gale; three children, Jennifer
(Raul) Soto, Slinger, and Meg (fiance’ Chad) DuBois and Daniel (Jen) Jackson,
both of Wisconsin Rapids; two sisters, Julia (Gordon) Kattner, Carmel, Ind.,
and Jean Singh, Stevens Point; and seven grandchildren.
