Ellis Project Receives Concrete Award

Ellis Construction has received an award from the Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association (WRMCA).
The award was for the concrete work for the Heartland Farms new potato storage facility in Hancock, Wis., in the agriculture category. The project general contractor/designer was Hansen-Rice, Inc.; the concrete supplier was County Materials and the concrete work was done by Ellis Construction. The facility has over 57,000 square feet of concrete.
Heartland Farms is one of the largest vegetable farm operations in the state. Ellis is currently building a new Farm Operations, Technology, & Training Center to support the continued growth of Heartland Farms.
The WRMCA is a statewide trade association consisting of ready-mixed concrete producers and associate members throughout the state and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. This was the 34th year concrete design awards have been given out. There were awards given out in twenty categories including agricultural, commercial, education, healthcare, ICF, parking lot, industrial and municipal.
