Washington Students Get a Taste of Opera

Washington Elementary students had the opportunity to experience an adaptation of Mozart’s The Magic Flute performed by Opera For the Young.
Several students were able to participate in the performance as fanciful space creatures and the “Alien Council of Wisdom” as the space- age adaptation of noble Prince Tamino, Papageno and Princess Pamina unfolded in front of the school.
“Sharing opera with students is a highlight of the many activities during Music in Our Schools Month,” said Sandra Weyers, Washington Elementary music teacher.
