Two Superintendent Finalists Chosen, Meet and Greet Set

City Times Staff
The Stevens Point School Board has decided on two finalists for superintendent.
Of the 23 applicants, Larry Ouimette, superintendent of Lac du Flambeau schools, and Craig Gerlach, superintendent of the Jefferson School District, remain.
One of the finalists will replace Interim Superintendent Lee Bush, who was hired last year after Attila Weninger resigned from the seat.
The board plans to announce the superintendent selection in April, according to a working calendar the School Board is using to guide the search.
Gerlach and Ouimette will be available for a public meet and greet on Tues., March 29. Ouimette’s session will begin at 6 PM; the meet and greet for Gerlach is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
The district will be seeking feedback from area residents following the meeting, which will be held at Bliss Educational Services Center, 1900 Polk Street.
It will be the last public appearance for the two finalists before the school board conducts final interviews. The board is expected to announce its decision in April.
