Sarah Esther Pankow, 90, formerly of Hortonville and
Sturgeon Bay, mother of two Plover residents, died Thursday, March 17, 2016, in
Stevens Point.


A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2,
at Divine Word Lutheran Church, 2501 Plover Springs Drive, Plover, with Pastor
Scott Wolfram officiating. Burial will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park
Cemetery in Appleton.


Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday,
April 2, until the service.


Pisarski Community Funeral Home of Plover assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.


Mrs. Pankow was born July 22, 1925, in Fremont, a daughter
of the late Ernest and Amalia (Meydam) Flunker.


She was married to Erwin Pankow Aug. 24, 1947, at St. Paul
Lutheran Church in Freemont. He died in November 2003.


She helped her husband with the family cheese making
business in Hortonville for many years.


Sarah and her husband later moved to Sturgeon Bay where they
owned and operated a Dairy Queen for 15 years.


After her husband died, she moved to Plover to be near some
of her children.


Survivors include two daughters, Brenda (Bill) Arndt,
Menomonie, and Barbara (Ron) Wolosek, Plover; one son, Barry Pankow, Plover; two
sisters, Marcella Westphal and Joyce Ponto, Weyauwega; one brother, Ken
(Elsbeth) Flunker, Neenah; and three grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bernhardt
Flunker and Ernie Flunker; and one sister, Margaret Pomerening.
