Verna K. Pankratz, 94, formerly of Marshfield, mother of
Stevens Point and Milladore women, died Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Care
Partners Assisted Living in Stevens Point.


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26,
at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hewitt, with the Rev. Dean Pingel officiating.
Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hewitt.


The visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday
until the services.


The family will designate a memorial in her name at a later
date.


Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield assisted with arrangements.

Mrs. Pankratz was born Feb. 27, 1922, in Medford, a daughter
of the late Peter and Ella (Schwandt) Klumb. She attended Dairy Belt School in
the town of Richfield in Wood County and graduated from Pittsville High School
as valedictorian of her class in 1940.


She was married to John A. Pankratz May 4, 1946, at St.
Michael Catholic Church in Hewitt. He died June 19, 2007.


The Klumb family were the original owners of the land around
what is now Richfield (North) Park.


Survivors include four children, James (Juleen) Pankratz,
Auburndale, Kenneth (Gayle) Pankratz, Marshfield, Beverly (Donald) White,
Stevens Point, and Thomas (Eileen) Pankratz, Milladore; six grandchildren; four
stepgrandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Klumb
and Florence Christiansen; and one brother, Herman Klumb.
