Avanell A. Haas, 81, Stevens Point, died Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Howard Hintzman presiding. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park in the town of Grand Rapids in Wood County.

Visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m. Thursday until the service.

Boston Funeral Home assisted with arrangements. Condolences
may be offered online at www.bostonfuneralhome.net.

Mrs. Haas was born Nov. 27, 1934, in Plover, a daughter of
the late John and Ruby (Parks) Bennett Sr. She grew up in Plover, attended
local schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School.

She was married to Richard Haas Jan. 14, 1956, at St. Paul’s
United Methodist Church in Stevens Point. He died July 18, 1989.

She was a homemaker who raised three sons. She later worked
at Del Monte until becoming employed with Basic American Potato. She retired
after 27 years.

Survivors include three sons, Timothy Haas and Robert (Ella)
Haas, both of Stevens Point, and Todd Haas; one daughter-in-law, Lynn
(Muhammad) Nazami, Stevens Point; one brother, Carl Bennett; six grandchildren;
and one great-granddaughter.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Bennett
Jr. and Curl Bennett.
