Jeannette E. Trautsch

Jeannette E. Trautsch, 92, Stevens Point, died Wednesday, March
23, 2016, at her home after a long illness.
The family will have a private celebration of her life at a
later date.

Mrs. Trautsch was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Greenwood, a
daughter of the late Arthur and Elsa (Mueller) Jaeger. She attended Necedah
High School and was a trumpet player in the high school band.
She was married to Arthur Trautsch Oct. 1, 1941, in Necedah.
He died in 1992.
She helped her husband with a concrete block business in New
Lisbon and also had a milk route in the area.
Later, she opened a clothing store, Skogmos, in New Lisbon and operated
that until her retirement.
She and her husband later moved to Mission, Texas, and
became residents there for almost 25 years.
After her husband’s death, she eventually moved back to Wisconsin
to be near her son, Jerry, and his wife, Marlene, in Stevens Point.
She was always active in a Lutheran church wherever she
lived. She became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stevens Point. There
she quilted blankets with the ladies, knitted hundreds of sweaters and also
gloves to be donated.
She later moved to Brookdale Senior Living.
Survivors include one daughter, Marion Hill, Waukesha; one son,
Jerry (Marlene) Trautsch, Mosinee; four granddaughters; many great-grandchildren
and some great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and
Clarence Jaeger.
