Benjamin Jore, 12, sits with his mother Katie during the March 21 city council meeting at the Stevens Point courthouse.
The P.J. Jacobs Jr. High student attended the meeting as part of the requirements to obtain his Citizen in the Community merit badge. Jore is a Boy Scout in Troop 298, which meets at St. Stan’s.
Other activities Jore is required to complete include giving his troop a presentation on the city’s history and performing volunteer hours. Jore said he plans to volunteer at Schmeeckle Reserve.
