Superintendent: Snow Day for District Offices on Thursday

Stevens Point School District offices will close on Thursday in anticipation of the coming snow storm.
While local students and most teachers are on spring break this week, Interim Superintendent Lee Bush said several district employees are still working, to include some administrative positions, as well as maintenance and janitorial departments. For safety reasons, Bush said he’s decided to close all district offices on March 24.
“Whoever is scheduled to work tomorrow, they should stay home,” Bush said by phone Wednesday. “We’re going to go ahead and close everything down for the day.”
All sport practices in the district have also been cancelled.
Stevens Point and Plover has already issued snow emergency designations ahead of the storm, meaning motorists are not allowed to park, stop or stand on any public street.
According to the National Weather Service, the entire area is under a winter storm warning until 1 PM Thursday, March 24, with 10-14 inches of snow accumulation expected.
