Ruby M. Huntoon

Ruby M. Huntoon, 88, Waupaca, an Amherst native, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 4, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Waupaca.
Visitation will be at the Maple Crest Funeral Home from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 3, and at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the service.

Mrs. Huntoon was born Sept. 20, 1927, in Amherst, a daughter
of the late Arnold and Loretta (Wenzel) Koplien. She graduated from Amherst
High School.
She was married to Edwin Huntoon March 29, 1961. He died
Feb. 3, 2011.
She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Rural
Historical Society and a longtime member of Waupaca Fitness Center.
She and her husband traveled throughout Europe and Algeria. They
also lived in Mallorca, Tunisia, and St. Martens.
Survivors include seven children, Peri (Ernest) Kott, New
York, Patricia (John) Huebner, Iowa, Kathleen (Dean) Oehlke, Texas, Lori (Scot
Krebs) Huntoon, Beloit, and Steven (Sharon) Minton, Kevin (Kimberly) Minton and
Joseph Huntoon, all of Waupaca; one stepson, Andrew (Linda) Huntoon, Appleton; two
sisters, Bea (Ozzie) Anderson, Minocqua, and Jeanette (Norman) Hudziak, Wild
Rose; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Walter
“Coolie” Kiekhafer; two sisters, Lois Berto and Carol Leu; two stepbrothers,
Gerald Shanklin and Bill Shanklin; and one stepsister, Dorothy Rusch.
