Chester T. Betker
Chester T. Betker, 88, Stevens Point, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the Palliative Care Unit of Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 11, at the Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens Point, with Deacon Vern Linzmeier officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the services.

Mr. Betker was born March 15, 1928, in Wauwatosa, a son of the late Charles and Anna (Spietza) Betker. He attended local schools in the Rosholt area.
He entered the U.S. Marine Corps Jan. 8, 1952, in Milwaukee. He was honorably discharged Jan. 7, 1960, in Quantico, Va. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He was married to Dolores Kubisiak Nov. 15, 1947, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. She died Nov. 1, 2005.
After the marriage the couple settled in Milwaukee.
He worked as an over-the-road truck driver for a number of companies. He retired from Coca Cola Company in 1993. He also drove truck for Moodie Trucking and Risdon Trucking. He was also an independent Morning Glory Dairy driver, delivering milk door-to-door.
He also was a police officer for the Stevens Point Police Department and was a licensed Department of Transportation examiner in Milwaukee.
He was a member of Monsignor McGinley Council 1170 Knights of Columbus of Stevens Point, the Stevens Point Berens-Scribner American Legion Post 6 and the Polish Legion of American Veterans (PLAV) DuBay Post.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna (Dennis) Havlovick, Stevens Point, Dawn (Paul) Blaskowski, Plover, and Kimberly (Brian) Gates, Barron; two grandsons, Ryan (Jennifer) Betker, Stevens Point, Chris (Paula) Gates, Rice Lake; a special friend, Roselyn “Rosie” Kellogg, Reedsburg; and two sisters-in-law, Madelyn Kubisiak, Stevens Point, and Esther Betker, Beloit.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
