Dugan Unofficially Defeats Patton in District 8 Race

Cathy Dugan has defeated incumbent alderman Tony Patton in the race for alderman of District 8 in the city of Stevens Point.
Unofficial results show Dugan topping Patton with a total vote of 522-400.
Dugan, a vocal member of the public at city meetings for nearly 10 years, is currently seated on the redevelopment authority. She has been a resident of Stevens Point for 40 years and previously taught English and women’s studies at UW-Stevens Point.
Patton has been on the City Council for just over four years and the Portage Co. Board of Supervisors for a total of 12 years. He also serves on the Police & Fire Commission.
