Incumbent District 10 Alderman Mike Phillips has unofficially defeated Robert Larson for the seat of alderman in the 10th District of the City of Stevens Point.
Phillips overtook Larson with an unofficial vote of 491 to 219.
Phillips was first elected in 1995. He lost his seat in 2004 but was reelected in 2012 and is currently council president.
“I think I’ve got some years left to offer, due to my past experience. I know a lot of people around the city, and have and always will represent the constituents of my district. Also a lot of people in the city have said they wish I was their alderman,” said Phillips.
Larson previously served on the Stevens Point School Board and ran for mayor in 2014 but was eliminated in the primary.
