Wisconsin/Nicaraguan Partnership Says Goodbye to Longtime Friend, Volunteer

The Wisconsin/Nicaraguan Partnership today is saying goodbye to a longtime volunteer.
George Hanson of Stevens Point was killed in a traffic accident on Highway 10 Thursday afternoon.
“It is with great sadness we share the unexpected loss of our dear George Hanson,” a statement from W/NP read in part. “George was an exemplary volunteer, extraordinary cookie baker, and a huge part of Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners. His dedication to the W/NP shipping process was relentless.”
Hanson regularly transported donations in brought them to the W/NP warehouse on 2nd St. North.
“He always brought delightful and entertaining humor to the packing and loading days, making hard work fun and enjoyable for all,” the statement continued. “George was simply a fun, amazing, kind, generous and joyful person to be around. He will be greatly missed by many and may his example live on for the rest of us.”
