Aspirus Wausau Hospital has awarded Ellis Construction a contract for the expansion and renovation of its cancer center, ambulance garage, and food service areas.
The architect for the project is Plunkett Raysich Architects (PRA) of Milwaukee. The project is part of the new campus master plan for the hospital, and the 17,000-square-foot project is expected to be completed in phases over the next 24-30 months.
The ambulance garage will double the capacity to four ambulances. The emergency department façade and canopy will be updated for improved visibility and access. The food service area expansion will include a 6,500-square-foot addition and 3,506 square-foot renovation. The dining room and serving area will be relocated to better serve patients, visitors, and staff. The cancer center will be enlarged approximately 7,000 square feet and will include new PET/ CT imaging services.
