Young Professionals Week Celebrated April 22-30

United Way of Portage County Ignite Leadership Network will celebrate Young Professionals Week April 22-30 with a variety of professional, social and volunteer events.

The week will kick off with the Phantom Gallery Party on Friday, April 22, from 7-10 p.m. at a location to be revealed April 21. Ignite will team up with the Arts Alliance of Portage County for this unique social experience that will feature art, food and entertainment.

Ignite members and guests are invited to attend the statewide 2016 Bubbler Awards ceremony at the Platinum Flight Center of the Appleton International Airport on Saturday, April 23, at 4:15 p.m. to. The ceremony will recognize Wisconsin’s Best Workplaces for Young Professionals and the night will include food, music, entertainment and networking.

Members with dogs, or those who love dogs, will be able to network on Sunday, April 24, from 3-5 p.m. at the Point Dog Park during a K9 Networking session, while a Workout of the Day session will take place for those interested in getting fit on Monday, April 25, at 6:30 a.m. at Sconnie Crossfit in Stevens Point.

Sara Brish, executive director of the Stevens Point Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, will be featured at a Lunch, Learn, Lead event on Tuesday, April 26, at 11:45 a.m. at Mid-State Technical College in Stevens Point.

Ignite members and friends will clean a two-mile stretch of County Road HH from Post Road to County Road R beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, while the following day on Thursday, April 28, they can go behind the scenes at the Stevens Point Fire Department for a Backstage Pass: Emergency Services event starting at 5:30 p.m.

The week will conclude with a Breakfast Club open roundtable conversation about young professionals in Portage County on Friday, April 29, at 7 a.m. at the Basement Brewhaus at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and with a Regional Chill ‘n Grill on the Hill with other local young professional groups on Saturday, April 30, from 3-6 p.m. at Sylvan Hill Park Chalet in Wausau.
