April 8
Just a Bad Driver: A 17-year-old girl was warned for driving left of center, inattentive driving, not having proof of insurance and driving with a view obstruction near County Trunk R and County Trunk B at 12:43 AM.
Top 10 Arrest: Deputies arrested a 39-year-old woman, Desera Konopacki, during a traffic stop at Portage Dr. and Bluebird Dr. at 6:06 PM. Konopacki was listed on Portage County’s “Top 10” most wanted.
April 9
It’s The Dragon’s Fault: Police pulled over a 54-year-old man for speeding near County Trunk W and County Trunk F at 1:14 PM. The man told police he became preoccupied as he and his family were singing “Puff the Magic Dragon”.
Road Rage: A 57-year-old man was warned for passing in a no passing zone on the 1400 block of Post Road at 3:31 PM. The man had apparently become upset the motorist in front of his wasn’t driving faster.
Leg Cramps: Police stopped a 55-year-old woman after observing she was deviating from her lane near Hwy. 10 and Stockton Rd. at 7:19 PM. The woman told the officer her leg cramps caused her to deviate.
Mysterious Animal: A 33-year-old man called deputies to complain an animal had been howling behind his house at 11:38 PM.
April 10
Drunk in the Road: Deputies were called to the corner of 4th Ave. and 6th St. North in Almond when a caller reported a man lying in the road at 12:29 AM. Deputies determined the man had been drinking and took him home.
April 12
Assault: Police were called to a school on the 2000 block of Polk St. at 8:07 AM after a 15-year-old girl there was accused of assault.
Busted for Pot: Deputies arrested a man and a woman, both 20, for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of THC from a Blue Heron Ln. home at 12:05 AM.
Illegal Dumping: A 63-year-old woman called police to report s neighbor had dumped a used baby crib mattress on her Georgia St. property at 12:31 PM.
OWI: Police arrested a 42-year-old woman for OWI at 8:34 PM near Second and Main streets.
Car Versus Pedestrian: A 64-year-old woman called police to report a hit and run accident on the 2500 block of Stanley St. at 4:06 PM, but police were unable to locate the incident.
Stop for the Bus, Man: A 25-year-old man was warned for failure to stop after a school bus driver, 50, reported to police the driver did not stop for the bus when its red lights were flashing.
Fire Alarm: Hull Fire Dept. responded to a fire on Regent St. at 4:55 PM. A resident there had burnt food on his stove, setting off a fire alarm.
April 13
Two for One: Police stopped a 23-year-old man for failure to wear his seat belt, and wound up arresting his passenger, a 26-year-old man who was wanted on a Waushara Co. warrant, at 3:26 AM.
Disturbance: Police were called to a home on the 2800 block of Soo Marie Ave. at 10:27 after a disturbance was reported between a 15-year-old girl and a 75-year-old man.
