Lorraine A. Jelinski

Lorraine Ann Jelinski, 80, Wisconsin Rapids, a town of
Lanark native, died Monday, April 18, 2016, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in
Wisconsin Rapids.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday,
April 23, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids, with
the Rev. Mark Miller officiating. A private family burial will be at Riverside
Cemetery in Nekoosa.


Visitation will be at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin
Rapids from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 22, and at the church from 10 a.m.
Saturday until the Mass.


Memorials may be designated to her family to start a
scholarship fund for students who are aspiring to become teachers.

Mrs. Jelinski was born May 17, 1935, in the town of Lanark
in Portage County, a daughter of the late William H. and Ann S. (Lawrence)
Rosin.


She was married to Benedict L. Jelinski Jan. 8, 1957. He died
Dec. 2, 1998.


She was a school teacher and taught at St. Lawrence Catholic
School in Wisconsin Rapids for two years and at Sacred Heart Catholic School in
Nekoosa for 33 years.


She served as both a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den leader.
She was an active volunteer for the Wild Rose Hospital Auxiliary.


Survivors include three children, Carol A. (Gary) Collins,
Rudolph, Conrad J. (Joni) Jelinski, Wisconsin Rapids, and Deborah S. (Dale)
Simonson, Wautoma; one stepson, Lyon D. (Virginia) Jelinski, Wisconsin Rapids; four
brothers, William (Pauline) Rosin, Ogdensburg, Gilbert Rosin, Wautoma, Carl
(Christine) Rosin and Roger (Carol) Rosin, Wild Rose; one sister, Shirley (Lee)
Jackson, Ontonagon, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four
great-great-grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by one son, Rodney; one stepson,
Jerome; one stepdaughter, Joyce Finnessy; four siblings, Lawrence Rosin,
Virginia Clavette, Joyce Nelson and Ramona Rosin; one granddaughter; and one
great-granddaughter.
