Mary Lou Schreier

Mary Lou Schreier, 84, Wisconsin Rapids, a Stevens Point
native, died Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Arborview Lodge in Wisconsin Rapids.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April
26, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Beth Macha
presiding. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday
until the service. A meal will be served after the service.
Memorials may be made to Jeremiah’s Crossing, a therapeutic
horseback riding ranch in Babcock, designed for individuals with special needs.

Mrs. Schreier was born Aug. 6, 1931, in Stevens Point, a
daughter of the late Ralph and Rena (Olson) Smith. She grew up in Stevens Point,
attended local schools and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1949.
She was married to Robert Schreier in November 1952. They
later divorced.
She worked for Whiting-Plover Paper Company and Consolidated
Papers in administrative support roles.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three children, Michael (Sandra),
Wisconsin Rapids, and Steven (Lori) and Susan (James) Walczak, both of Stevens
Point; two sisters, Lois (William) Check and Ellen (James) Nelson; four grandchildren;
and one great-granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Smiley;
and one daughter, Jacqueline Schreier.
