Marjorie A. Sievwright

Marjorie A. Sievwright, 98, Stevens Point, died Monday, April
18, 2016, at Care Partners Assisted Living while under the care of Heartland
Hospice.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 27,
at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Jerzy Rebacz
presiding. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until
the Mass.
Memorials may be made and will be established in her name at
a later date.

Ms. Sievwright was born Jan. 21, 1918, in Stevens Point, a
daughter of the late Harry and Ruth (Fulton) Sievwright. She grew up in Stevens
Point, attended St. Stephen Catholic grade school and graduated from Emerson
High School in 1935.
She attended Wisconsin State Teachers College and graduated
from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Marshfield on Aug. 24, 1939.
She worked as a registered nurse in Appleton, as a civilian nurse
at the Navy Pier in Chicago and in Madison during the polio epidemic.
She later moved to Stevens Point, working for her father at
Sievwright Insurance Agency before she and her brother, Earle, bought the
business. She worked until she was 76 years old.
She was a volunteer for the Girl Scouts of America. She was
a member the Moose Lodge, Catholic Daughters of America and St. Stephen
Catholic Church.
Survivors include one sister, Ruth, Stevens Point; one sister-in-law,
Lou Sievwright, Stevens Point; and numerous nieces and nephews; grandnieces and
nephews, and other extended family.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings, John, James,
Harry Jr., Robert, Jerry, Earle, Eleanor and Hazel.
