City Council to Reorganize Tuesday

By Brandi Makuski
With two new members elected April 5, the Stevens Point City Council will go through its annual reorganization on Tuesday.
Known simply as the “reorg” by many within city government, the meeting reconfigures members of the city’s standing committees, as well as various boards and commissions. The reorg occurs annually after each spring election.
New council members this year include David Shorr, who unseated District 2 Councilwoman Denise Mrozek by a vote of 392 to 287, and Cathy Dugan, who ousted long-time Alderman Tony Patton 522 to 400.
The total of new council members now totals nine, with seven new alders having been elected last April.
