False Alarm Triggers Police Response at SPASH

City Times Staff
Stevens Point police responded in force Tuesday morning after an emergency notification system was triggered at SPASH, 1201 Northpoint Drive.
The system is designed to call for additional police support in the event of a school-wide emergency. It was triggered on Tuesday at 10:54 AM.
Multiple units responded to the school and the building was placed on lock down. Officers searched the building as a precaution.
It was later determined the system was triggered on accident by electrical work being conducted at the school. Classes resumed around 11:30 AM, according to the SPPD.
