Stephanie Anne Stokes has announced her bid for a sixth term as Portage Co. Treasurer. Stokes has held the position since 2003.
According to a press release from Stokes, she is a certified public manager. Her experience includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from UW-Madison in 1995, a 2003 training session at Municipal Clerks and Treasurers Institute, and also earned a Public Management Essentials Certificate from UW-Green Bay.
“I wrote a procedural manual entitled ‘Calendar of Procedures for a County Treasurer’, that has been adopted by the Wisconsin County Treasurers Association, as a training tool to be used in training new county treasurers and updating seasoned county treasurers throughout the state,” Stokes wrote in her release.
Stokes is a member of several trade organizations, and also created a booth at the Wisconsin Counties Association to confer with other county treasurers.
In her release, Stokes also said she was seeking public support.
“I’m not looking for donations, just open letters, yard sign locations and word of mouth,” Stokes wrote. “Your support and your vote mean everything.”
Stokes said she is available to answer questions anyone might have of her via telephone (715) 204-2213 or email [email protected].
