Cynthia A. Wisinski has announced her reelection bid for register of deeds.

Wisinski is a lifelong resident of Portage Co. who first began working in the register of deeds office in 1986. She was first elected in 1997.

In a press release, Wisinski said she’s worked hard to preserve the county’s real estate and vital records while dealing with tight budget constraints. Along with several pieces of legislation Wisinski has helped become law, she recently helped improve privacy for residents’ social security numbers, as well as create an alert system for residents concerned with property fraud.

“Is is imperative that our elected officials be knowledgeable and financially responsible stewards of the position that Portage County constituents have elected them to,” Wisinski wrote in her release. “I have a proven record of this and hope to continue to serve all Portage County residents.”

Wisinski is a member of several trade organizations, and also sits on the county’s land records committee, and was recently appointed to the Wisconsin Land Information Council.
