Ariel Lyn Cooper

Ariel (Sara) Lyn Cooper, 31, Las Vegas, Nev., a Stevens
Point native who was Portage County’s Easter Seals Poster Child in 2002, died
Thursday, March 31, 2016, after a battle with sepsis due to complications with
cerebral palsy.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7,
at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 900 Brilowski Road, Stevens Point.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday, May
7, until the service.
A life celebration luncheon will be held at noon Saturday,
May 7, at Con & Bob’s Lakeside Bar, 736 Old Wausau Road, Stevens Point.
Donations to the Epilepsy Foundation or United Cerebral
Palsy would be appreciated.
Mrs. Cooper was born Sara Lyn Olson Jan. 23, 1985, a
daughter of David Olson and Glenda Jewell. She graduated from Stevens Point
Area Senior High School in 2003.
She was married in 2007 to George Cooper, who had moved to
Wisconsin from Alaska.
The couple moved to Las Vegas, Nev., where his family
resides.
In Las Vegas, she knit hats for infants in the neo-natal
intensive care unit and was a graphic arts designer.
Survivors include her husband, George Cooper, Las Vegas, Nev.;
her mother, Glenda Jewell, Stevens Point; her father, David Olson, Athens; her
brother, Travis Jewell, Stevens Point; and her twin brother, Seth (Melissa
Kadmras) Olson.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Bailee Ann; and
her maternal grandparents, James and Genevieve Jewell.
