Janet J. Peplinski, age 78, of Custer passed away peacefully Saturday April 23, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Janet will held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday April 27, 2016 at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church in Custer. Rev. Daniel Hackel will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens Point. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:00 Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 – 10:45 AM Wednesday morning at the church.

Janet was born February 23, 1938 in the Town of Dewey, the daughter of Steven and Regina (Adamski) Blaskowski. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Stevens Point in 1957. Janet married August Peplinski on May 17, 1958 at St. Peters Catholic Church.

Janet dedicated her life to her loving husband and family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, and traveling (and anything social). Janet and August enjoyed 14 winters traveling and camping in Texas and Arizona after their retirement. Janet was also a member of the St. Mary’s Altar Society.

She is survived by her husband August and their 5 children: Cindy (Rick) Henke, Amherst Jct; Dennis (Debbie) Peplinski, Birnamwood; Jeffery (Chris) Peplinski, Eland; Diane (Russell) Wysocki, Custer; Lyle (Donna) Peplinski, Black River Falls. 12 grandchildren: Tim (special friend – Sayaka) Worden; Amber (Michael) Mau; Michelle (Travis) Oesterreich; Lindsey (Tide) Gile; Eric (Kim) Peplinski; Nickolas (special friend – Erika) Peplinski; August Peplinski; Alex Peplinski; Heidi (Kevin) Schleicher; Heather (Isaac) Groshek; Erin Wysocki; Nathan Peplinski. 1 step grandchild: Laura Mutz. 2 great grandchildren: Kai Mau and Louis Oesterreich. One sister Harriet Coates. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Donald Blaskowski and her sister Eleanor Karch.

Janet’s family would like to thank the Marshfield Cancer Center for all their help and support.
