Rapids Soccer Hands Panthers First Loss of Season

The SPASH Panther Girls Soccer team took the field Tuesday night in a battle of Wisconsin Valley Conference heavyweights welcoming Wisconsin Rapids to the Portage County Youth Soccer Complex.

Following a scoreless first half the Raiders put the lone score on the board mid-way through the second half to drop the Panthers from the unbeaten ranks. SPASH now sits at 7-1-0 overall, 3-1-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.
SPASH entered the contest leading the WVC in scoring with 18 goals and 13 Assists. They out-shot Rapids 11-4.
The lone goal came off the foot of senior midfielder Katie Kiiskila at the 63-minute mark when she fired a shot from the right side and found the net just inside the near post.
SPASH will now travel to Merrill for a 5 PM Thursday night game before returning home to host league leading DC Everest on Tuesday, May 3rd at 7 PM on Scaffidi Field at the Portage County Youth Soccer Complex.
