Hattie M. Pliska

Hattie Mae Pliska, 90, Stevens Point, died Friday, April 29,
2016, at North Haven Assisted Living in Stevens Point while under the care of Heartland
Hospice.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at
St. Peter Catholic Church, with the Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvasam presiding.
Burial will be in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Visitation will be in the St. Faustina Room of the church
from 8:45 a.m. Thursday until the Mass.
A memorial may be made to the Humane Society of Portage
County.

Mrs. Pliska was born March 25, 1926, in the town of Linwood,
a daughter of the late John and Lila (Grant) Williams. She spent her entire
life in the Stevens Point area. She attended local grade schools and graduated
from high school at St. Joseph Academy.
In her earlier years, she worked for the Weber Tackle
Company. She also found work as a waitress at the Congress Club and the Sky
Club. She later became employed at Ore Ida Foods and retired from there as a quality
control technician.
She was married to Ed Pliska. They later divorced.
She was a past member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Dennis (special friend Gloria),
Wisconsin Rapids; one daughter, Sheila (Richard) Schultz, Plover; one sister,
Patricia Sentz, Wasilla, Alaska; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert,
Alfred and Henry Williams; and three sisters, Dorothy, Lynn and Marjorie.
