Stockton Crash Sends Two to Hospital

Two men were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Friday, sending both to the hospital.
The Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the accident at the intersection of U.S. Highway 10 and County Highway K South in Stockton at 12:38 PM.
According to a news release from the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office, a southbound pickup truck attempted to cross Hwy. 10 when it was struck by an eastbound passenger car. The truck came to final rest in the southeast ditch; the passenger car came to final rest on the Canadian National railroad tracks. While the crash did not involve a locomotive, the train traffic was stopped until the scene was cleared.
The truck was driven by a 75-year-old Buena Vista man; a 59-year-old Fond du Lac man drove the passenger car. Both were transported to St. Michael’s Hospital for medical treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately released.
Portage Co. Ambulance, Amherst Ambulance Service and fire crews from Amherst and Stockton also responded.
