Bernice Kaye, 89, Wausau, a Custer native, died Monday, May
9, 2016, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau.


A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16,
at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wausau, with the Rev. William Grevatch presiding.
Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum in Restlawn Memorial Park in
Wausau.


Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Monday until
the Mass.


Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home in Wausau assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.petersonkraemer.com.


Mrs. Kaye was born Feb. 3, 1927, in Custer, a daughter of
the late Joseph and Agnes (Cera) Megal.


She was married to Dr. Frank Kaye April 28, 1951, at St.
Mary of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher. He died Oct. 16, 1999.


After her husband died, she worked as a groundskeeper at the
townhouses where she resided. When she moved into Garden Apartments assisted
living, she took care of the grounds by pulling weeds and watering plants and
took care of indoor plants during the winter.


She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church choir until two
years ago when her health declined.


She was a member of a bowling league most of her life.


Survivors include three children, Jeffrey (Debra) Kaye,
Excelsior, Minn., Allyson (Michael) Wenzlick, Green Bay, and Warren (Jennifer)
Kaye, Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Vanessa
Travers; 10 brothers; and two sisters.
