Helen M. Gostomski, 95, Plover, died Saturday, May 14, 2016,
at Ministry St. Michael’s Hospital.


A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m.
Saturday, May 21, at Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens Point. Burial will be at
St. Joseph’s Cemetery.


Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Saturday
until the service.


A memorial will be established through Saint Michael’s
Foundation – Hospice Services.

Mrs. Gostomski was born May 5, 1921, in Knowlton, one of 10
children of the late Joseph and Anna (Ciula) Gorka. Her mother died when she
was a young child and her stepmother, Josephine, helped raise her. She grew up
on the family farm in Knowlton and attended school in the area.


She was married to Edwin F. Gostomski Sept. 27, 1944, in
Chicago, Ill. They were married for 68 years.


After raising her children, she worked in food services at the
University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for many years. She was a member of St.
Stanislaus parish. She was as a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Society for
many years.


Survivors include four children, Dennis (Debbie) Gostomski,
Waynesville, N.C., Lee (Catherine Glennon) Gostomski, Plover, James Gostomski,
Stevens Point, and Jeffrey Gostomski, Walnut Creek, Calif.; one brother, Ervin
Gorka, Stevens Point; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.


She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Josephine;
one daughter, Cheryl Bohm; two sisters, Cecelia Schaefer and Frances Chmiel;
and six brothers, John, Martin, Frank, Henry, Andrew and Norbert Gorka.
