William (Bill) Ellis, Jr. died peacefully at home on May 16.
Bill was born on March 12, 1929 in Pasadena, Cali. to William and Edith Ellis. He is survived by his wife Betty (Ziegler) Ellis and children Jan-ann (Richard) White, William (Michelle) Ellis III, and Peggy (Robert) Brasser; grandchildren Megan (Matthew) Pletzer, Alyson White, William Ellis IV, Emily Ellis, Jason and Molly Brasser.

Bill graduated from Northwestern University and following a brief stint at Speed Queen began his long communications career at Sentry Insurance. With an eye toward television he created the Sentry Special television series. He founded Centerpoint Productions continuing his ambition to produce and distribute quality programming. Shows included work with the Jacques Cousteau Foundation, Angela Lansbury, and featured movies about Sadat and Pompeii, among others.

Bill’s joy was his family, their home in Deerwood Park, travels with Betty and helping to build a first-class golf course at the Stevens Point Country Club. He loved trips to Door County and The Masters Golf Tournament with family and friends. His creativity added style and class to all he undertook.

The Ellis family gives a special thanks to our loving caregivers. A celebration of life memorial will be planned for this summer. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.shudafuneral.com
