Rita J. Karger, 79, formerly of Milwaukee and Stevens Point, died Friday, May 20, 2016, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday May, 26, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating.

Visitation will be at the church from 9 a.m. Thursday until the Mass.

Memorials in her name will be established at a later date.

Pisarski Funeral Homes of Stevens Point and Plover assisted
with arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.

Mrs. Karger was born June 28, 1936, in Mount Calvary, a daughter
of the late Francis and Sybilla (Abler) Oestreicher. She graduated from Messmer
High School in Milwaukee.

She was married to Bernard Karger May 4, 1957, at St. Leo Catholic
Church in Milwaukee.

After the marriage, the couple settled in Milwaukee area
until 1996.

Upon retirement they moved to Stevens Point, and the past
year they resided at Lakeview Place assisted living in Fond du Lac.

Survivors include her husband, Bernard, Fond du Lac; five children,
Mike (Chris), Steve (Jan), Dave (Cheryl), Sue (Craig) Scholz and Tom; one brother,
Ronnie Oestreicher; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Leroy; one sister,
Julie; and one grandson.
