Viola Violet Peters, 89, Plover, formerly of Amherst, died Friday, May 20, 2016, at Whispering Pines in Plover.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst, with the Rev. Dan Hackel officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst.

Visitation will be at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 23, with a rosary service at 4 p.m., and at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the Mass.

Mrs. Peters was born May 31, 1926, a daughter of the late
Arthur and Helen (Glodowski) Thompson.

She was married to Victor Peters July 12, 1958, in Amherst.
He died June 19, 2006.

She was a member of the St. James Altar Society and also a
member of the Tomorrow River Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 11346.

Survivors include two sons, James (Cindy) Peters and Jeff
(Trudy Beth) Peters; one sister, Virginia Olson; and six grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jenny and
Mary; and six brothers, Chet, Ole, Leo, Bob, Ray and Syl.
