Public meeting to discuss the future I-39/Portage County B interchange in Plover
For the City Times
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss the proposed reconstruction of the I-39/Portage County B interchange in Plover.
The meeting is scheduled to take place from 5 PM to 6:30 PM on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Plover Village Hall Activity Room, 2400 Post Road, Plover. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5 PM; after the presentation, the meeting will follow an open house format.
The existing interchange has several deficiencies that create safety and operational concerns. After analyzing all of the interchange alternatives and reviewing public input, the diverging diamond interchange was selected as the preferred alternative.
The purpose of the May 24 meeting is to discuss why this alternative was chosen, what the traffic proposed impacts would be, and how a diverging diamond interchange operates.
Construction on the interchange is currently scheduled to begin in late 2021.
