Frank L. Jelinski

Frank L. Jelinski, 96, Custer, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016,
at North Crest Assisted Living Center in Stevens Point while under the care of
Ministry Home Care Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
May 27, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, with the Rev. Gregory
Michaud officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Friday until
the Mass.

Mr. Jelinski was born Oct. 4, 1919, in the town of Franzen
in Marathon County, a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Burant) Jelinski. He
attended Holt Grade School in Marathon County and also Chicago Technical
College in its building and construction/blue print reading program.
He was married to Genevieve Dombrowski Oct. 20, 1945, at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. She died April 16, 2014.
He worked for a period of time at A.O. Smith Co. in
Milwaukee and also for Haertel Monuments in Stevens Point. He then worked for
Ellis Stone Co. in construction, retiring in 1984.
He was a member of the United Brotherhood Carpenters Union

He was a self-taught musician and played drums for the Chet
Raflik Polka Band and also played the harmonica.
He volunteered at St. Michael’s Hospital for the Oncology Department.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Holy Name Society for many years.
Survivors include one son, Richard (Kris) Jelinski, Stevens
Point; two daughters, Janice (Roger) Firkus, Custer, and Joyce (Randy)
Flisakowski, Amherst Junction; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Joe, Louis,
John, Stanley and Bill; and three sisters, Frances, Bertha and Betty.
