For the City Times

The Portage Co. UW-Extension, in partnership with the City of Stevens Point, will be holding a free Emerald Ash Borer awareness and informational meeting on Wed., May 25.

The meeting will be held at the Bukolt Park boat landing area from 6 PM to 7:30 PM.

According to a news release from UW-Extension, EAB is responsible for the destruction of tens of millions of ash trees in 15 states in the Midwest and Northeast since first being identified in 2002. EAB was located in Portage Co. last month.

The meeting will cover identification of ash trees, information on EAB infestation, determining whether your tree is worth saving and treatment options.
