County Imposes Boat Launch Fee

Boaters at Galecke and DuBay parks will now have to pay a fee to utilize the boat launches there.
The fee — $5 per day or $25 per season — goes into effect June 1. Seasonal passes are available to out-of-county residents for $35. Season passes are good for either park.
The new fee was approved last month by the Portage County Park Commission. Revenue generated from the boat launch fee will be used for future boat launch improvements, according to County Parks Director Gary Speckmann.
“There is no fee for other county park boat landings,” Speckmann wrote in an email to the media.
