City Pool, Waterslide Opens June 4

The Donald Copps Municipal Pool & Waterslide Complex is scheduled to open for the season on Saturday, June 4 at 1 PM, weather permitting.
Officials from the city will hold a Grand Pool Opening, with poolside activities and special door prizes. Attendees can register for all prizes throughout the day until 4 PM with their admission ticket for the day.
The pool will remain open for its regular season through August 15. Admission costs $2.25 for ages five and under, and $2.75 for ages six and up. Season passes are also available and vary by age.
The pool offers swimming lanes and diving well with two diving boards. The waterslide is 162 feet long and the center also has a solar-heated zero depth wading pool, along with a raindrop fun fountain. Snacks and beverages are also available at a concession stand.
The pool closes whenever there is a threat of violent weather, lightning, rain or if the outdoor temperature is 65 degrees or less.
The pool is located behind the Parks and Recreation Department at 2442 Sims Ave. in Goerke Memorial Park.
