Deadline Extended to Apply for Citizen Board Member Spots

The Stevens Point School Board is still seeking community members to serve as members of standing committees, and the deadline to apply has been extended.

Citizen members would serve from June 1, 2016 – May 31, 2017 on the business services and policy and legislation committees.

Business services meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM and makes recommendations to the school board regarding RFP’s, transportation, food service and the district budget.

The policy and legislation committee also meets the first Tuesday of the month, immediately following the business services committee at 7:45 PM. The committee makes recommendations relative to district policy across areas including board policy, administration, instruction, students, HR, fiscal management, safety and community relations.

Anyone interested can apply at Bliss Educational Services Center, 1900 Polk St., or via the district’s website, www.PointSchools.net, under the “school board” tab, then select the “committees” tab.

The application deadline has been extended to 4:00 PM, Friday, June 3.
