Earle W. Haima

Earle W. Haima, 84, Stevens Point, died Monday, May 30, 2016,
at his home.
A private funeral was held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in
Stevens Point.
Mr. Haima was born March 9, 1932, in Waupun, the oldest
child of the late Erwin and Jennie (Smedema) Haima. He grew up on a farm near
Cambria and graduated from Cambria High School.
After earning a teaching certificate at Columbia County
Teachers’ College, he taught at a one-room country school in the Baraboo bluffs
and then served as a school principal in Wyocena. A summer job at a Clark Gas Station
in Portage led him to a new career operating Clark stations in Stevens Point
until his retirement.
He was married to Ramona Davison Aug. 15, 1953, in Markesan.
Survivors include his wife, Stevens Point; five daughters,
Susan (Glen) Dimka, Judy (Bryan) Hamilton, Lori, Peggy (John) O’Dell and Rebecca
(Michael) Heinrich; four siblings, John (Elsie) Haima, Ronald (Nancy) Haima,
Betty Jane (Reuben) Horton and Joyce (Stephens) Greer; 15 grandchildren; and 15
great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a stillborn son.
