WisDOT to Discuss Future Location for Hwy 10

Public meeting scheduled in Stevens Point to discuss corridor preservation mapping
For the City Times
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss the US 10 corridor mapping project between I-39 (Plover) and Lake Drive (Amherst Junction).
The meeting is scheduled to take place from 5 PM to 6:30 PM on Monday, June 13 at the Ben Franklin Junior High School Cafeteria, 2000 Polk Street. A brief presentation is scheduled to begin at 5:15 PM. After the presentation, the meeting will follow an open house format.
The objective of the corridor preservation mapping was to identify a future location for the highway in the event that the existing highway could no longer safely handle local and regional traffic.
The purpose of the June 13 meeting is to discuss the status of the US 10 corridor preservation project and share new information obtained since completion of the environmental document. The department is also seeking input on how the preferred bypass alternative impacts properties and communities.
No construction projects are associated with the study.
Citizens who are deaf or hard of hearing and require an interpreter at the meeting may request one by contacting Kristin McHugh at least three working days prior to the meeting via the Wisconsin Telecommunications Relay System (711).
