Thomas Christ Barden, 65, Almond, died Saturday June 4,
2016.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday
June 10, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in the town of Buena Vista,
with the Rev. Jim Trempe officiating. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic
Cemetery in the town of Lanark.


Visitation was scheduled at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home
in Amherst from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, with a rosary service at 7 p.m.,
and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the Mass.

Mr. Barden was born July 20, 1950, in Stevens Point, a son
of Ann Barden and the late Franklin Barden. He graduated from Almond High
School.


After high school, he joined the U.S. Army. He was a private
first class, serving from 1970 to 1973 and was stationed in Germany.


He was a member of the Mead-Rath-Gutke American Legion Post
339.


He received an associate degree in civil engineering at
Mid-State Technical College.


He was married to Patty O’Keefe July 4, 2001, on his farm in
Almond.


They remained on the farm.


He was a foreman/heavy equipment operator and worked for
Cape Construction until his retirement.


Survivors include his wife, Patty Barden, Almond; his mother,
Ann Barden, Amherst; seven siblings, JoAnn (Jack) Doyle and Mike (Val) Barden,
both of Amherst, Bob (Chris) Barden, Plover, Karen (Mick) Wennesberg, Tell
City, Tenn., Gary (Sandy) Barden, Wautoma, Pat (Dave) Kamke, Green Bay, and
Mary Jo Barden, Waupaca; along with several nieces and nephews.


He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and John
Barden.
