Jason “Jay” Bethke, 40

Jason “Jay” Bethke, age 40, of Marshfield, a former resident of Stevens Point, met angels Thursday, June 2, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield.
Jason fought a courageous 18-month battle with cancer.
Funeral services for Jay will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday June 8, 2016 at Woodlands Church, 190 Hoover Ave., Plover, WI 54467. Pastor John Jordens will officiate. Burial will be in Augusta, Wis. later in the week. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the church. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.
A memorial in lieu of flowers will be established in his name. A celebration of Jay’s life will be held at a later date.
Jay was born September 9, 1975 in Stevens Point, the son of Victor and Jennifer (Livermore) Bethke. He graduated from SPASH in 1994 and from UWSP in 2001 with a CIS Degree. For the past 16 years Jay worked as a network engineering manager in Marshfield.
Jay was passionate about many things in life, he never went halfway at anything including: earning his pilots license, scuba diving, exercising, weight lifting, and target shooting. Any person Jay came across became a friend for life. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed any and all get-togethers with them.
Jay is survived by his parents: Victor and Jennifer Bethke, Plover. His fiancé Keisha Vehrs, who was the great love of his life for 16 years. Jay, Keisha, Vic and Jennifer became a foursome in the past years, enjoying spending time together, especially biking, and sharing in life’s adventure.
