James E. “Jim” Seehafer

James E. “Jim” Seehafer, 71, Marathon, brother of a Stevens Point man, died Monday, June 6, 2016, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marathon, with Monsignor Joseph Diermeier presiding. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Marathon.
Visitation is scheduled at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home in Marathon from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday, and at the church from 10 a.m. Friday until the Mass.
Memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church in
Marathon.

Mr. Seehafer was born May 5, 1945, in the town of Hamburg in
Marathon County, a son of the late William and Loretta (Hintz) Seehafer.
He was married to Marlene Sommer Nov. 6, 1965, at Holy
Family Catholic Church in Poniatowski.
He worked for 46-1/2 years at Marathon Cheese Corporation.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene, Marathon; two sons,
Randall (fiancee Julie Rodman) and Rodney, Marathon; five siblings, Gerald
(Elaine) Seehafer, Stevens Point, Darlene (Carl) Slagel, Birnamwood, and Mary Literski,
Doris Springer and John Seehafer, all of Wausau; and four grandsons.
He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Russell.
