Three probationary firefighters (left to right) — Drew Egan, Jeremiah Parker and Dustin Fleisner — chat at the Stevens Point Fire Dept. Station No. 1 on Tuesday as the await their final interviews with the Police and Fire Commission.
All three have been probationary employees for the past 11 months.
The commission was in closed session for over an hour interviewing the trio individually before granting their respective statuses as full-fledged firefighter/paramedics.
Parker, 27, is a native of Kewaskum near Milwaukee. He graduated from UW-Stevens Point in 2011 and also studied fire science at Mid-State Technical College. He previously also worked for the Los Angeles Fire Dept.
Egan, 24, is from Stoughton and studied at MATC in Madison. He has lived in the area for the past year.
Fleisner, 30, studied at Fox Valley Tech in Appleton and previously worked in the emergency department at Ministry St. Michael’s. He is from Marshfield.
