Robert Allen Kawalske, 78, Wisconsin Rapids, brother of a
Plover man and a longtime Wausau teacher, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at
Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.


Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. John Grohs officiating.
Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in the town of Grand Rapids
in Wood County.


Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday
until the services.


Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids assisted with
arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.taylorfuneralhome.com.


Mr. Kawalske was born Feb. 12, 1938, in Marshfield, a son of
the late Alfred and Grace (Jantz) Kawalske.


He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
with a master’s degree in education.


He lived in Wausau for 35 years and taught at John Marshall
Grade School for 33 years.


After retiring from teaching, he moved back to Wisconsin
Rapids.


He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wisconsin
Rapids.


Survivors include one brother, Al Kawalske, Plover; and two
sisters, Patricia (Joe) Ostrum and Carla Kutella, both of Wisconsin Rapids.


He was also preceded in death by one sister, Lanna Kawalske.
