St. Paul Lutheran Church announces new pastor’s arrival

Pastor Steven A. Hulke recently accepted the call to be the senior pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stevens Point.
Hulke was previously a pastor in Chatham/Munising, Mich., Marquette, Mich., and Plover. He most recently served as the lead pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church. His official installation is planned for June 12.
Hulke’s training for the ministry began at Concordia College in Milwaukee where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1983 and continued at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., where he graduated with a master’s degree in divinity in 1987.
He held several district offices, including those of third vice president (2000-02, 2011-12) and second vice president (2012-15). He also served at the synodical level as a Synod Convention Delegate (2010) and member of the Human Care Floor Committee (2010). He is also familiar with the central Wisconsin area, where he participated in the establishment of a mission congregation in Plover.
Hulke has also been involved in Community Thanksgiving Day Dinners, the National Lutheran Schools accreditation process, the North Wisconsin/Upper Michigan District Board of Directors and his local hospital Pastoral Advisory Board.
Hulke and his wife, Olivia, both Wisconsin natives, are parents to three children, all grown. They are expecting their first grandchild this fall.
