Leonard J. Haasl

Leonard J. Haasl, 89, Stevens Point, a former Milladore
resident and a part owner of Hughes Ford Service, died Sunday, June 12, 2016,
at Willowbrook Point Senior Living in Stevens Point.
A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled for 5 p.m.
Thursday, June 16, at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Blenker, with the Rev.
Jesse Burish officiating. Burial will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in
Milladore at a later date.
Visitation will be at the church from 3 p.m. Thursday until the
Mass.
Memorials may be designated in his name to the Alzheimer’s
Association.

Mr. Haasl was born March 6, 1927, in Milladore, a son of the
late William and Eva (Merrill) Haasl. He was a 1945 graduate of Auburndale High
School. In his younger years, he was known as “Chic” and played shortstop for
the Wood County baseball team.
He was married to Dawne M. Hughes Sept. 17, 1949, at St.
Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore. She died Feb. 5, 2011.
He was part owner and salesman at Hughes Ford Service in
Milladore. He received the Distinguished Service Award multiple times from Ford
Motor Company.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Lynn Haasl,
Milladore, Kathleen (Thomas) Roth, Junction City, Tami (Daniel) Hoff, Appleton,
and Sheri (Jeffrey) Krueger, Kabetogama, Minn.; one son-in-law, Robert Mancl,
Milladore; one brother, Phillip (Lorraine) Haasl, Port Edwards; two sisters,
Eva Skibba and Bea Henke, both of Wisconsin Rapids; 12 grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Glenn Ray Haasl;
one daughter, Susan Marie Mancl; four brothers, Emery, Carl, Ray and William
Haasl; and two sisters, Lucille Grimm and Catherine Ashbeck.
